Goals are a target; they provide the direction in which we aim.

Ambition is the desire to achieve our goals.

If you have ever visualized, fantasized, thought about, wished for, or wanted something, you have engaged in some form of goal setting.

However, goals without action can end up staying dreams or fantasies.

What are you doing daily to help satisfy the

craving,

hunger,

thirst,

itch,

or passion

to achieve your goal(s)?

You might be putting away a little bit of money every day for a vacation or early retirement, or adding 2 extra minutes to your morning run to train for a marathon.

Little steps and daily practice help reduce procrastination and jump start motivation.

Keep in mind that if you have been struggling with your mental health or are simply tired or burnt out, your energy levels may be lower than usual. With that in mind, it’s best to try and set goals that are realistic given your current level of energy (rather than your optimal or ideal level) so that you set yourself up for success.

What can you do daily to move closer to your goal?

What small steps can you take to make progress?

You can set aside some time to give attention to your goals with these suggestions:

  • Write it down! Get specific about the details of your goals. This will help you break it down into smaller, more achievable steps.

  • Share your goals with someone who helps you stay motivated and who will hold you accountable.

  • Create a vision board: Put together a visual collage or image of your goals using drawings, pictures, magazine clippings, etc. Place it in a location where you will see it daily, such as the lock screen of your phone, your bathroom mirror, or behind your bedroom door.

  • Be your own cheerleader and believe in yourself!

  • Practice gratitude to help you stay motivated, even if there are roadblocks and detours along the journey.

~ Invest consistently and contribute regularly to your vision.
